India's F1 story: Force India was founded in 2008 by Vijay Mallya and became a beloved midfield team. ๐ Narain Karthikeyan โ India's F1 Pioneer
India's first and only Formula 1 driver. Narain Karthikeyan raced in the 2005 season for Jordan Grand Prix, and returned in 2011โ12 with HRT F1. His historic debut made him a national hero and opened doors for Indian motorsport on the world stage.

Karun Chandhok raced in F1 in 2010โ11 for HRT and Lotus, becoming India's second F1 driver. Today he is a prominent Sky Sports F1 pundit, bringing an Indian perspective to the global audience of hundreds of millions of F1 fans.

Formula 1 came to India with the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Sebastian Vettel won all three editions (2011, 2012, 2013). The circuit, one of the best-designed modern tracks, awaits a possible F1 return in the future.
